Birds on a wire,

Sitting in the most unusual place

Hardly a sound uttered,

When they disappear without a trace

Silently peaking at the scene below

In amazement I wonder,

What are they thinking

As they see people run to and fro.

Like an old motion film reel,

Wound on a plastic core

On a projector repeating a movie,

We love and adore

People’s lives are in motion day after day

Real birds on a wire

If they were able to talk,

What would they say?

Looking at human beings progression

As watchers witnessing,

Man’s behavior and daily obsessions

Sometimes I wonder,

What are they thinking?

As they look towards the ground

Is this life, Is this living?

Content with their lives as they

Sit high on a line,

I actually believe they’re doing just fine.
