AFTER THE STORM

politics

For the first time, in a long time,  I was at a lost for words. I was unsure of what I wanted to write about because of the economic climate in our country. Numb and paralyzed based on the series of event that took place this past week, my mind was in a state of confusion.

2016

We the people elected our 45th President of the United States of America. His Name is Donald J Trump, whose promise of change, and his ability to hear the voices of those who are hurting in this country propelled him to a victory. His election was like an earthquake, which rippled across the world which his opponents didn’t anticipate and was totally astonished by the results.

Unfortunately, not everyone was in agreement, as protests of his candidacy sent echo’s of disenchantment around the country. It was believed based on exit polls that Mrs. Clinton would have been the presumed winner. The faces shown on television of the Democratic team, exposed their disappointment and shock which transpired after state by state fell into the hands of the Republican’s.

I believe God is in control of all things seen an unseen. So therefore, I will continue  to pray for healing of our country.

We are all concerned with the direction of this country, whether you’re on the red or blue team. The fact that the one percent elite keeps the majority of the wealth in this country and don’t pay their fair share really isn’t helping anyone. There is a lot of anger in this country because people are being taken for granted while these politicians are pursuing their own agenda. They are also tired of the struggles in Washington and their inability to help the people economically in need. The plight of everyday people has fallen on death ear.

We are all living in interesting times, and the ride is going to get bumpy in the next few years. Some people are hopeful, banking on Mr. Trump to bring about the change they seek, while others continue to demonstrate in opposition to his Presidency. There is a lot of fear and disgust due to the level of uncertainty in a world spinning out of control.

I hope and Pray we learn to come together as a people, not divided by political parties, race, or ethnicity. We the people have more common ground than differences. Over the next four years, let our voices be heard in opposition to anything which does not serve our interest.

Nuggets of Truth:  “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.”

FALSE PERCEPTIONS

blessed.jpg

We live in one of the most richest countries on the planet. Yet we complain about what we don’t have, rather than thanking God for all his blessings.  As individuals, we may not have a lot of money, but we have the essential comforts in order to live a more productive life. Our false perceptions about our world, keeps us from looking beyond what we see, when we are focused on our own reality.

poverty

When we stop to reflect about some of the people living in our global community, In comparison we are more than blessed.  Unfortunately, in other countries,  not everyone has the ability to obtain the basic necessities for everyday life. Their are countries where the life expectancy, gross national income per capita and average years of schooling is lower than western societies.

I saw a post on Facebook recently shared by a friend, which reminded me of the reality of children across the world who are starving in orphanages. It was so in my face, I was shocked into the reality of the importance of giving. These kids were naked, hungry, extremely thin to the point, you weren’t quite sure of their age. Their reality is one of hunger, lack of clothing, sadness, and the inability to have their basic needs met.

poverty-1

Our false perception about our own country blinds us from the truth. In a country as rich as ours, there are 2.5million kids who are homeless, an 8 percent increase in America today. There are also 13 million children who live in households that do not get food on a regular basis in  order to nourish their bodies.

Why in a world of plenty, do so many children and people go homeless and hungry? I know it’s  complicated and not as simple a problem to solve. However, the way I see it, we can all do our part. I know there are various organizations doing their part in order to try to end world hunger. Yet there is so much more to be done.

Within our own reality, we can all give a little to continue the struggle of ending poverty and homelessness.  We can start by taking off the blinders and keeping it real. Having a false perception only skews your view  of what’s really going on in our world today.

Nowhere

spectacular-great-quotes-life-stunning-inspirational-quotes-inspirational-quote-about-life

We all experience in our lifetime instances where we feel lost, in the middle of nowhere. Somehow, with the help of our heavenly father, we find our way on a road to somewhere. A feeling of belonging and purpose, you finally find yourself as you maneuver your way through life.

There are years we sell out, to live a life which does not meet our expectations. That’s being in the middle of nowhere, trusting life will change. Living a life working towards others dreams rather than our own. At times we feel lost, wondering or waiting for other options. We go along just to get along.

Until you start examining where you are and who you want to be, life will never change. Embracing the spirtual side of life is the key to a better existence.

I’m approaching a time in my life where every decision I make is  crucial. Living a more spiritually driven life is my intention. I was lost in a world which dictated my every move. It taught me how to think, what to beleive, and guided my footsteps from my youth.

I am breaking free of that mold and forming my own opinions and beliefs about this life. I am on a journey of change. As a free spirit, I like to provoke people to think out of the box.

Blogging has inspired me to learn, grow and experince my life in different ways. I finally found a place where I am at home. Writing is my passion and in the middle if nowhere, I found my purpose. I thank God for his enlightenment and the people he’s placed in my life to open up my eyes towards truth.

Color and skin

 A spectrum of Gods design

Our world, is filled with a lot of  beauty and an array of different colors. Its range can be seen in the animal kingdom, our oceans, insects, and land formations. We notice it in rock formations, flowers, and the human race.

I recently had a conversation about the color of our skin, with a woman I’ve known for years. She asked me, why did God create us with different skin tones? Surprised by this question, coming from a person who lived more than half of their life, I attempted to explain it in layman’s terms. “God created mankind in his own image .”Let me continue by saying, all humans on planet earth are descendants from Noah and his wife, his three sons and their wives. Before that the original man and woman was Adam and Eve. We are one human family which is called the human race.

So, why did God make us different  skin colors? Instead of going into scientific answers to this question, and trying to analyze the genetics of mankind, I will give you my personal opinion and simplistic view. After reading through many passages in the bible over the years, I believe God, the creator of the heavens and the earth is a God of diversity.

When I look at nature in all its wonder, whether the birds of the air, flowers, plants or trees , God created them in different shapes and colors. Nothing is exactly the same. The colors of the rainbow shows his handiwork. Look  at the entire universe, his creation, his masterpiece.  WHAT DO YOU SEE ABOVE AND BELOW? COLOR! Our planets within our own galaxy shows color. All that is seen is Gods artwork, his intelligent design. He loves color and You and I are no different. Can you imagine a world where there is only one race? How about a world absent of color? Our world revolves around color, that’s what makes it aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

Some people would have you believe color is due to inbreeding, moving to different climates, and genetics. There are those who would even suggest Adam and Eve may have produce offspring in different colors. Even if any of these claims were true, our God who is in control of all things, would have known the outcome. Don’t believe the hype! God is a God of variety and splendor.  I believe, he will always be a God who uses color in all his creations. He is in control of everything, whether your skin is black, brown, yellow, red or white, color is determined by our creator.

Color is also a construct created by man in order to divide the human race, rather than unite us as a people. We must stop sweating the small stuff in life and come together, refraining from what makes us different, but remembering  our commonality as human beings.  Martin Luther king once stated ” I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their  character. ” Accept others, no matter what their color, as our Fathers has designed each of us for his great pleasure. If we say we believe in God, how can we reject his creation?

John 1:3-All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Psalm 139:14-I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
