Opposites

conversation-799448_960_720

Have you ever met anyone who thinks they’re always right? In a conversation, you are like night and day or positive and negative. Sometimes you can’t get a word in edge wise as they choose to believe their opinion of the facts are correct and yours is wrong, thus dominating the conversation. You debate on various personal and impersonal topics and you never seem to have a real understanding. The older you get some things never change. Think before you speak and refuse to engage in these debates. Continuing to discus a topic with someone who is unwilling to listen, will only lead to frustration.

It can happen on your job with your boss, or an associate. Family, friendships, or personal relationships, can also lead to broken dialogue if both parties are unable to share their thoughts. We have all experienced this in life, and it’s lessons we learn how to deal with on our journey.

Beleiving you’re always right, and not giving others the opportunity to express themselves is dangerous. Healthy debates and a willingness to listen to another persons opinion will allow your mind to expand to other possibilities. We are all learning and growing and no one has cornered the market on truth or factual information.

If you encounter someone with this type of disposition, my advice is to listen and let go. Don’t engage in their negative behavior. What doesn’t serve you will only lead to exasperation. Focus on constructive thoughts rather than destructive attitudes.

Deadlines and Pressures

stress-111425_640

Overwhelmed by life’s challenges

Situations which seeks to confront

Crisis that show up when we least expect it

Overloaded with pressures placed upon us

Deadlines, deadlines, and more deadlines

Detrimental to our physical and mental health

Stress can kill, if you allow it to control your life

Critical choices needed for a spirit of change

Let go of what doesn’t serve you

Choose a life worth living

Breathe, release, relax

Focus on what really matters

Shout, stretch, exercise

Develop effective strategies for coping

Loosen the tension that grips and binds

Turn stress into a positive force for growth and change

Believe God will get you through the difficult times

Nugget of truth: The book of psalms in the bible has helped me through many challenges. Prayer avails much and releases the tension we sometimes store within our minds.

Character and Conduct

Finally,Brethren, whatever things are  true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

     Philippians 4:8

Everything you think about begins in the mind. Our thoughts shapes our character and conduct towards others. It molds our belief system. It encourages us to change our own reality towards righteous or unrighteous living. Who we are and the life we want to live is contingent on our thought process. When you meditate think on positive thoughts that will lead to life. Let your conduct give you peace instead of anxiety.

Concentrate on the things that will help you live according to God’s will. Character is who you are when no one is looking. It’s the decisions you make day to day. Your character influences your actions. We all have the power within us to choose positive thoughts and hold all negative thoughts captive.  Practicing this principle will push out the dark  thoughts and make more room for the light to shine forth in your life.

SHAKING NEGATIVE VIBES

To thine own self be true

-Shakespeare

When Shakespeare wrote these words, he was talking about being false to the self.

Taking ownership

Many years ago, I had an interest in starting my own business. I’ve always defined myself as being optimistic, motivated, and one who is willing to take a chance to move forward. Besides coming up with some ideas on my own, I also tried working for an MLM company whose claim to fame was an opportunity to have a successful business selling their products. After a year of speaking to potential associates across the country in order to duplicate my efforts, I realized not everyone had the same level of commitment.
