OUR NEW REALITY

UNEMPLOYMENTThe Year is 2016, and already a lot has changed from previous years. As I listen to more and more people who’ve lost their jobs, the times they are changing. Friends, family, neighbors, and strangers are out of work for more than a year. Jobs have been moving overseas, leaving workers in disarray. Loyalty and hard work is no longer rewarded but disregarded as changes become more prevalent.  Left to pick up the pieces of their lives, their salaries are reduced as they go in search for a new job in order to support their Continue reading “OUR NEW REALITY”

WANTS VS NEEDS

fashionHave you ever had a strong desire to purchase an item that you felt you couldn’t live without? Well, for many of us that is a regular occurrence. I remember a time when I saw a particular coat in a store window on my travel to work everyday. It was a fashion style that was  popular among the ladies and of course I wanted it so badly that common sense went right out the window. The price tag was pretty steep but who cares. I made it my purpose in life to buy this coat of many colors and as I made my way into the store one day, money in hand, I finally made my purchase. I was beaming with joy and in that moment, I felt like a million bucks. Sadly, in all the years I had this beautiful coat, I wore it once as I strutted and styled down the streets of New York. It  was a temporary fix, a moment of pleasure and like most things in our life, out of sight, out of mind. Years later, while sorting through my closets, I stumbled upon that beautiful expensive coat and decided to donate it to charity. Happiness is like an Ocean

always changing, never remaining

exactly the same

wave after wave

It’s never constant and shifts in different directions

when and how it chooses

and then there is a calmness as you look out at it’s surface Continue reading “THE HAPP-IN-NESS CONTINUES”

HAPPINESS

When I was younger, I set up a lot  parameters I needed in my life in order to be fulfilled and happy. Some of the beliefs I had was in order to be happy, I wanted to be married with children, have a wonderful career, a home out in the country and this list of my needs continued throughout my life. Why do we place so much constraints on our definition of Happiness? Continue reading “HAPPINESS”

A LIFE OF TRUTH

Imagebase30_08A life of truth is a life of freedom to be who you truly are

A life of  truth is a life awakened to what’s going on in our world whether it’s climate change,

deforestation, animal extinction, wars and the likes

A life where you are truly connected to God in mind, body and soul

A life of discernment and wisdom to be the best you can be

A life where money does not define or control who you are based on your socioeconomic status

A life where responsibility is not wearing you down like a wet garment

A life where you are free to be who you want to be without the boundaries that sometimes confine us.

A life where your debts is not dictating your lifestyle

A life where people can share with one another and live in peace and harmony

A life where the color of a person, language, culture, ethnicity or anything that seeks to separate us does not exist

A life of truth is giving to those who are less fortunate

A life where technology, television commercials, and the trappings of this economy does not control our behavior as to who we are, what we want and what we would truly like out of our lives

A life where our souls are not for sale to the highest bidder

A life where we can walk through the flowers and trees and live lovingly and responsibly to all that God has created

A life of truth simply put can mean different things to different people but the bottom line is we are all connected to all that we see around us and as we experience life let us try to leave it a better place as we think about the consequences to our inaction
