HAPPINESS

silhoutte

When I was younger, I set up a lot  parameters I needed in my life in order to be fulfilled and happy. Some of the beliefs I had was in order to be happy, I wanted to be married with children, have a wonderful career, a home out in the country and this list of my needs continued throughout my life. Why do we place so much constraints on our definition of Happiness?

Happiness is more freeing than what we elude it to be.  It is a state of mind a reason for being and living.  It is a choice we make everyday upon awakening. It does not come from the outside, and it is not made up of the materialistic world we reside in as it comes from within our minds and spirit.

We go to the malls and purchase items we don’t really need because it makes us feel happy. The foods we consume even when we’re not hungry gives us comfort and joy because we are trying to fill a desire to be happy. Some of these foods are toxic to our bodies but for self gratification we ignore the signs even if its detrimental to our health. Happiness is a feeling, a longing  and a thirst for your spiritual side to be nourished. It is a calling on your life to find out who you are, why you are here and what you’re suppose to do with the life that was given to you as a gift. Observing the natural world that surrounds you will bring joy to your soul.

Happiness is found in freedom from all the trappings of this world. There is a sense of peace when you are not living for mans expectations for your life but Gods expectation. It is love and being loved by others and also giving love. Sitting silently, meditating, breathing, clearing your mind, observing one of the greatest gifts in life ,Planet Earth. Happiness is intangible and can’t be purchased because it’s free. Turn to the word of God for there is a peace which transcends all understanding. Allow your focus to be on Gods promises as his words brings light into the darkness of this world.
