Recently, I saw a program on PBS featuring Eric Clapton in concert. I never knew anything about his music but suddenly I was captivated by his songs and the passion in which he sang. Hanging on his every word with joy touched my soul, Mr. Clapton sang the song called Tears in Heaven. He gives through his music and we receive the benefits. If you ever want to get a glimpse of what living with passion and dedication is all about, check out people who sing for a living, play sports, musicians, dancers, or anyone who is truly committed to their intention. I was in awe as he drew me into the moment. His dedication to his art all these years is truly inspiring for all who attends his concerts.
Some of us live our lives day-to-day like zombies who have no sense of direction. We lack stimulation of thought and mind. Taught from a young age how to live through our institutions we were indoctrinated into a system of control. Fitting into a box created by those whom we serve was the goal of the true masters of this world. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free. We choose to value things over people. Living without passion, our purpose has become all about survival. Making money has become our ultimate goal in order to pay our debts and we have forgotten who we really are as we live paycheck to paycheck. When did our world turn so upside down?
I understand because I believe most of us are in the same boat swimming against the current and remaining in the same place. However there are those of us who are tired of that reality and are serious about making changes in order to live their intended life. We must first start by improving our inner strength and refrain from allowing the storms of life to control our destiny. Fear of failure usually stops us dead in our tracks and it becomes easier to do nothing than to do something. Try to surround yourself with motivational and inspirational reading materials that will help guide you on your journey. The Number one book in my life is the Bible. Everything I need to know is written in the word because it’s the greatest self-help book in our time. Define who you really are and what level of success you would like to achieve. Take note from people who are living meaningful lives. Educate and develop the skills you need in order to bring about change. Don’t just talk about it, put it into action and one day you will live life on true passion.
Nuggets of truth: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
