THE BLAME GAME

blame

I saw you hit a curb one day

and as I looked the other way,

all I heard you say

It’s your fault I did what I did

and I live as I live because

All your life, you found no other way

While playing the blame game.

Tic Tac Toe

There is no place to go

If you keep playing the blame game

Blaming this for that is not where it’s at

You will never be a diplomat

310H

Here you go again blaming others all your life

which is a bad habit to keep alive

Accepting responsibility for your own actions

will point you in the right direction

Change your projection

Stand up and realize in life at any given time

Things may go wrong

But blaming others will lead to a life

full of rejection

Stop, look listen and learn

There is a better way to turn

I know you find it hard to let go

Blaming others for life’s problems is all that you know

If you continue to live this way all of your life

It will only lead to a life filled with strife

If you dedicate your life to changing this behavior

You will not feel like a failure

But an individual

who is taking charge of their life

When they stop playing the blame game.

This is dedicated to people who find it very difficult to accept responsibility for the problems in their life.  Blaming others is not the answer. There is always hope if you have the desire to change your circumstances.

  1. Wow, this is amazing. I love the title – the blame game is exactly what some people play. I can really relate – my ex, who was abusive, would blame me for everything over and over. the subways were running late once and he blamed me. He never took responsibility for anything. But as you say, it’s all that he knows and it won’t do him any favors in the long run.
Really nice piece. I look forward to reading more of your writing

    1. Thanks for understanding and relating to this piece. It is so nice to have others who can atest to similar circumstances..😙😚
